Printing

privado” network can access the printer in the MAIN OFFICE and the printer in the TEACHER-ROOM or the DIRECTOR’S OFFICE.

“community” network CAN NOT ACCESS printers.

You may need these IP Addresses to replace the examples below:

teacher-printer (Ricoh MP 501) IP Address 172.16.1.31

directora-printer (Ricoh MP 301) IP Address 172.16.1.30

main office (Ricoh MP 501) IP Address 172.16.1.32

Methods to Print

  • USB Drive, Thumb Drive MOST RELIABLE
    • Put a PDF document ( .pdf) on the thumb drive. (A Microsoft Word document (.doc, .docx) will NOT WORK. Anything else will NOT work.) Plug the USB thumb drive into to printer. Use the menus.
  • Chrome Browser Printing
    • Install the Chrome browser ExtensionIPP/CUPS printing configuration
    • Make the selections: “Manage printers” -> “Add-Edit Printer” -> (add)
      • “Name” teacher-ricoh or directora-ricoh or main-ricoh
      • “IPP-Address” http://”IP-Address”/ipp such as http://172.16.1.31/ipp or http://172.16.1.30/ipp or http://172.16.1.32/ipp .
      • Then “Save” and “Click ‘i’ to test a printer.”
  • local NETWORK printing from PC
    • Use the Control Panel for Devices, specifically Printers (and Scanners), then choose “Add a printer or scanner)”
    • PC will be “Searching…”
    • Choose “The printer that I want is not in the list…”
    • Choose “Add a printer… by TCP/IP…”
    • Name of Host: perhaps 172.16.1.31 or 172.16.1.30 or 172.16.1.32
    • Make choices of Manufacturer and Model…. Ricoh … PCL…
  • local NETWORK printing from Macintosh
    • Add the printer by TCP/IP address…
